Census records show that on June 14, 1870 James and Mary lived in the Town of Half Moon, New York. James was recorded on June 14, 1870 living with his son Mathew Geagan in Syracuse, New York. James died on an unknown date. Mary died sometime between June 14 1870 and July 15 1870.

EDWARD BAXTER married ANN LOWERY
Edward Baxter was born 1820, in Ireland.  Between 1860 and 1918, Edward was a Shoemaker, and he owned a shoe store in White Plains, Westchester, New York. In June of 1863 he enlisted for the Civil War in Putnam county New York. Edward married Ann (Lowery) Baxter. Ann was born 1825, in Ireland. June 30 1880 census shows their Son in-law Frank Schirmer and 2 grandchildren living with them. In 1880 they had a domestic servant, Ann Dempsey born 1865 in New York. The value of their real estate in 1860 was $1,500.00, and their personal estate was valued at $600.00. Between 1862-1918  Tax Assessment Lists show that Edward owed the IRS $10.00 in taxes. Edward and Ann died on unknown dates.

Mathew Geagan son of Edward and Catharine (D'Arcy) Geagan was born about 1816, in County Kildare, Ireland. Mathew worked as Blacksmith in Syracuse, New York. His shop was located at 98 Canal Street Syracuse, New York. Mathew married Margaret (Gray) Geagan. Margaret was born about 1829, in Parish of Drumard, County Longford Ireland, to James and Mary ( - -?- -) Gray. She may possibly be a descendant of Lady Jane Gray. Census records show that from 1860 to 1886, the family lived at 60 Burnet Street, Syracuse New York. The family had two domestic servants, in 1960 Bridget McCormic born in 1847 and in 1870 Jane Hier Born 1851 in New York. In 1870 the value of their real estate was $5,000.00, and the value of their personal estate was $3,000.00. Their death dates are unknown.

WILLIAM RYAN HILL married ISABELLE BAXTER
William Ryan Hill son of John J. and Mary Jane (Burnett) Hill was born on June 21, 1854, in New York City. William was educated at St. John's College Annapolis, Maryland, Fordham University in York City, and Tremont Seminary, Norristown, Pennsylvania (Where he took a special course in civil engineering ). William went on to have an impressive career as a Civil Engineer listed is a small sampel of his achievements:
*New York Central and Hudson River Railroad Company.
*Chief Engineer of the Syracuse water works.
*Chief Engineer in charge of the Croton Aqueduct Commission, New York City.
*Chief Engineer in charge of the construction of the Barge Canal.
On 1 January 1907, aged 52, he was a He was appointed Special Deputy State Engineer of New York. In 1909, He opened an independent office in Albany, New York. William was a member of the Society of Civil Engineers, of the New England Water Works Commission, Central States Water Works Association and of the American Water Works Association, of which body he had been President. William was a Democrat. Many times he has been mentioned in connection with the high office of State Engineer and Surveyor, but he has preferred to remain in private life. He has been described as a public-spirited citizen and wields considerable influence in party affairs. On July 2 1874 William married Isabelle Bella (Baxter) Hill She was born  November 1854, in White Plains, New York., to Edward and Ann (Lowery) Baxter. Isabelle may be a descendant of the Huguenot Ann Barnet, and  possibly a descendant of Francis Drake. On June 8 1900, the family was recorded living at 408 Columbus Avenue Syracuse, New York. Census records show that from 1910 to 1930, the family lived at 97 Columbia Street AlbanyNew York. In 1900 the family’s domestic servant was Anna Burnes born March 1882  in Prussia. William died on  June 16 1918, aged 63, in Albany New York. Isabelle died on December 16 1938, aged 84.

James Gray Geagan son of Mathew and Margaret (Gray) Geagan was born in 1869. James worked as a Bookkeeper and a  Commission Traveler in Syracuse, New York, Then About 1920, he was a Proprietor of J.G. Geagan Inc. associated with the Deagan Chimes Company of Chicago, Illinois. James married Mary Etta (Hill) Geagan on October 10, 1900 at St. Marys Church in Syracuse, New York. Their Reception was at the Kanatenah Club Syracuse New York Mary Etta was born on January 3, 1877, in New York to William R. and Isabelle (Baxter) Hill. Census records show the family living in Syracuse, New York. From 1890 to 1900 the family lived at 312 Burnet Ave. in Syracuse, and from June 1 1905 to April 22 1910 the family lived at 107 Holland Street in Syracuse. The 1905 Census lists Martha A Teske as the family’s domestic servant. On May 10 1910, the family moved from Syracuse, New. York. to Chicago, Illinois. James died on November 15 1960, aged about 91, in University Hospital, Syracuse, Onondaga, New York.  His funeral was November 18 1960, in Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Syracuse New York. Mary died due to complications with child birth on August 16 1913, aged 36, in Saint Joseph Hospital Chicago, Cook, Illinois.  Her funeral was August 18 1913, in Cathedral of Immaculate Conception Syracuse New York. They were both buried in Saint Agnes Cemetery, Syracuse, New York.
